Website Breakdown
Our Purpose
At Find Your Sound our purpose is to provide people desiring to learn music a simplistic, fast way to gain access to all of the materials they would need to improve. The problem in which we are trying to solve is the lack of accessibility of online courses within one site. There are plenty of apps that cover singular instruments, but very few contain several aspects of music that can create multi-talented individuals.
How We Make It Happen
This desire for a multi-faceted course for multiple instruments is solved through our website by utilizing the unique skills of each of our coaches in order to further enhance the user experience with proper coaching from specialists in their fields of music.
Funding Strategy
There is zero funding needed for us to run the site aside from our subscription to Squarespace, and the financial requirements to create our courses would be entirely free. Our only spending would be covered by the users for celebrity lessons, which can be purchased online on sites such as cameo. We would personally purchase these lessons if an individual paid the premium for one of these lessons, so it is funded in itself.
Functions of the Site
Find Your Sound when fully finished would include several different site functions that users can have. They can access all pages of the site except for the courses themselves without a paywall, and once that is paid all lessons can be found in video folders held within the site itself. Not only would this increase the accessibility of our folders, but it would increase user interaction within our site as a result.
Navigation Structure
Find Your Sound is formatted in a simple way. There is a glitch that is unremovable from the administrative end of a “Staff” page that does not exist when editing, yet is stuck on the site and unable to be edited. Aside from this, all major informational tabs are included in the header of the site so users can find the page that they want. There are buttons that can be clicked that hyperlink you to other pages when there is related content as well, so very few clicks can get someone to access the page they are looking for. When signed in and subscribed, users have access to our coaching folders, the main content of the site itself.
Marketing Strategy
Marketing for our business would be done through external social media sites. We would initially pay for a cameo to have a celebrity give a lesson, which we would clip and use as our advertising, as well as having different coaches exhibit their skills in videos such as Instagram reels or Tiktok. Social media is crucial for advertising in today’s world, so our focus would be on this. Our search engine optimization would come through adding buzzwords into our site, such as “music lessons” and “[instrument] coach”, which would influence algorithms to push our site higher in search results. Higher user interaction once the business is going will also move it further up the results in an algorithm.
Creative Decisions/Formatting
Find Your Sound is following a simplistic, minimalistic style to offset the connotation of college students teaching music courses. This professional look can show the maturity and strength of our website to users, and makes the site simple to navigate.
